Gaelic Range

designs with traditional character

Introducing the unique Scotframe Gaelic Range

The Gaelic Range of house styles were conceived and designed by Archie MacDonald Design and Drawing Services based on the beautiful Isle of Skye. Growing up in a coastal settlement on the island meant Archie was continually inspired by the homes and landscape surrounding him - which he duly pursued as his career.

He quickly developed a signature style based around traditional highland houses and wanted to create timeless traditional exteriors with the flexibility to have open plan living areas and dramatic features suited to modern lifestyles.

Having developed a long standing and close working relationship with Scotframe Timber Engineering Ltd in Aberdeenshire, who have supplied a great many timber frame kits to customers across the highlands and islands, he recognised the benefits and potential for a coupling of the services and products they offer. With energy efficiency and thermal performance levels both regulatory and of prime importance to customers, Scotframe's unique closed panel factory insulated product Val-U-Therm PLUS system became his preferred and specified option to meet these demands.

Imagine an economical, adaptable, modern house with the strength and character of the traditional. These designs have it all. He has managed to design houses built to withstand the often harsh Scottish climate with such empathy for the magnificent landscape that once finished, the houses look like they have always been there.
