The journey to building your dream home starts with choosing Scotframe. We have been helping customers to build their homes for over 30 years, and we want to ensure that every step of the journey is as stress-free as possible.

Below you will find a map showing you every step of your self-build journey with Scotframe, so that you can see how the process works and can track where you are on the path to building your own home.

Your Scotframe Journey

Key of terms:

Design by Scotframe:
Scotframe provides your architectural services for one of our standard house types, a modified house type, or a completely custom design.

Design by Others:
You provide us with a design from your own architect and we create a timber frame kit to suit.

Design Freeze:
At this point any changes and amendments to the kit design are stopped because an order has been agreed and we will be designing based on the formal agreement. Any changes made beyond this point will have an impact on the cost and schedule.

Milestone Meeting:
A milestone meeting takes place at key points in the journey. These meetings are so that we can check in with you to make sure the design and build are what we have agreed and what you are expecting.

Payments 1-6:
The payment schedule shows when in the process you will need to make each part-payment so that we can move onto the next step. Please note: Payment 2 is expected at a slightly different time depending on whether the design is by Scotframe or others.
